1. Mark Zuckerberg Has High Expectations For Meta’s Metaverse

The CEO of Meta, formerly known as Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has discussed how the metaverse will play a significant role in his company and generate hundreds of billions of dollars in income. According to Zuckerberg, “Our playbook throughout over has been building services, try to serve as many people as possible – you know, get our services to a billion, two billion, three billion people, and then we basically scale the monetization after that.”

Considering that people may actually make eye contact when they meet in the metaverse, Zuckerberg expected experiences there to be more engaging than those in text, images, or videos, “basically adds up to making it deliver this realistic sense of presence,” added the co-founder of Facebook.

2. Harmony Offers $1M Bounty For $100M Hacker’s Identity

Hackers stole $100 million worth of Tether (USDT), Wrapped Ethereum (WETH), AAVE, SUSHI, DAI, and USD Coin (USDC) on Thursday before exchanging them for Ethereum. According to a tweet, the Harmony team has subsequently discovered the hacker’s address and is collaborating with “national authorities and forensic specialists” to recover the monies that were taken.

3. Iran To Introduce Crypto Rial’s Pilot Version Within 2 Months

The launch of Iran’s new digital currency, known as the crypto rial, is being prepared for by the Tehran government. Within the next two months, the Islamic Republic’s monetary administration plans to start the project’s experimental phase.

The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor, Ali Salehabadi, informed reporters on Friday that the Iranian government is making the required preparations to introduce a pilot program for the crypto rial as of the Persian calendar month of Shahrivar, which begins on August 23.
